Happy Hump Day everyone! Today I wanted to tell you about a piece of Japan right here in South Florida. I don’t promise I’ll get over my Japan obsession anytime soon, but this will probably be the last post about anything Japanese… for now. This is just too good not to share, and in case you still don’t have plans for the weekend, a visit to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens may just be the perfect option.
This beautiful gem is located in Delray Beach, Florida, about an hour and a half north of Miami Beach. Morikami is home to a museum that celebrates Japanese arts and culture, with multiple exhibition galleries, an authentic tea house, a theater, café and gift shop that offers traditional Japanese items. The venue encompasses over 200 acres of gardens that were designed to showcase different periods of Japanese garden design and the connection between Japan and Florida. You will see Zen gardens, pine forests, a bonsai collection, lakes, bridges and beautiful flowers and plants at every turn.
Whether you’re looking for a place to take your out-of-town-visitors (that’s not South Beach or Wynwood- been there, done that), a kid-friendly activity for this weekend…or just a romantic date with your significant other…I definitely recommend a visit to get lost in its beauty.
Morikami is closed on Mondays. Admission price for adults is $15 and $9 for children. Check out their calendar of events for cool upcoming activities.
P.S: Photos feature the amazing and beautiful women in my life in honor of #InternationalWomensDay
