Travel in time to the Florida Renaissance Festival

Happy Sunday paradise seekers! Today is a good day to do something outdoors, at least here in South Florida. I have a great suggestion for you: travel in time to the annual Florida Renaissance Festival located in Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach.

This Renaissance Village invites you to engage in a plethora of activities, performances and games that will leave you feeling like you actually traveled back in time to the Renaissance era. You can prove your skills in the many games available, such as knife and axe throwing, archery, and “head games” (like any fair basketball game, except you throw cut-off plastic heads to the basket).

I had a little taste of different activities; I rocked in throwing chinese stars at a target, but did not do so well in the high striker game. I engaged in a fencing match, participated in a hilarious magic show and literally threw tomatoes at a man that was poking his head through a hole in a wooden wall. Watch the video below, recapping my visit last weekend.

After today, there is only one weekend left of this grand event (March 25-26). If you like dancing gypsies, jousting, and have a thing for knights in shining armor, head over to Deerfield Beach and enjoy a day full of fun. Oh, and don’t worry about packing sandwiches or snacks for the day, you will have plenty of options at the festival; from Turkey legs and kettle corn, to beef skewers and sweet arepas (who knew arepas were a thing during the renaissance, lol). And of course, the good ol’ cold ale! #HuzzH!

Admission is $21 for adults and $9 for children (single day). You will have to pay to get into the park and then an additional fee for parking. There is VIP parking available.
